SFH-1 horizontal radial drains completed

MOORE Energy's partly owned subsidiary Millennium Geo-Venture SAS (MGV) is the co-owner with Geopetrol SA of the Soufflenheim exploration license in Alsace.

Following the evaluation of the logs the data gathering well SFH-1 was completed using radial drilling technology from Radial Drilling and Coil Services. Four radial drains of 20 m length each were successfully completed on 22 September 2014 with oil shows.

The well has been completed using the latest lifting and monitoring technology from Netzsch and Leutert; i.e. a PCP insertable pump (first in Europe for the oil and gas Industry) with a downhole pressure and temperature gauge.

SFH-1 is the first oil well drilled in the area for 15 years. The objective of the well is to allow the license holders to better evaluate the remaining potential of the known hydrocarbon bearing Glaswinkel and Beinheim formations in the Soufflenheim Field which previously produced 460,000 barrels of oil from 1954-1968. SFH-1 is due to be put on test production by the end of September. This will allow MGV to better assess the remaining potential of the field.

MGV is the operator and holds 55% working interest in the Soufflenheim license in partnership with Geopetrol. MOORE Energy is a Norwegian oil and gas exploration and production company with focus on conventional resources in France.
